List of goods of the two March joint purchases from computeruniverse.net:
Intel’s new SSD is built on 3D NAND QLC memory with 64 layers, designated by the manufacturer as 3D2 QLC. 1-TB drive is equipped with two chips, with four crystals each. The controller supports NVMe 1.3, PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and Toggle Mode 2.0 and 3.0. The SSD 660p is clearly noticeable reduction in the estimated recording load associated with the transition to QLC NAND. The drive is guaranteed for a period of five years if the TBW resource has not been exhausted. For this 1 TB SSD TBW is only 200 TB, which is even less than in the most entry-level SSDs. As in the case of TLC disks, the SSD 660p is equipped with a rather large dynamic SLC cache for faster write speeds. However, in the case of the Intel SSD 660P M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 QLC, data always passes through the SLC cache, which leads to a significant drop in performance when the cache is full, approximately to the level of the HDD.
Of the positive aspects, in addition to a good price, it has the low temperatures of the drive (in idle mode – 37 ° C, under full load – up to 66 ° C).
Among the main features that appear in the description from the manufacturer is end-to-end data protection, ensuring the integrity of stored data and support for Intel Rapid Start technology, which allows quickly bring the system out of sleep mode.
Technically, the Core i9-9400F is based on the same semiconductor foundation as the past-generation Core i9-8400 Coffee Lake processors, differing only by a slightly increased clock frequency and the fact that the integrated GPU is hardware-locked at the production stage. Thus, the company has achieved a reduction in waste in the workplace, and left customers in the cold. However, due to the lack of shortage of these processors, the price for them usually does not exceed the recommended one, thereby making them, in some cases, profitable for purchase, in particular, when purchased from the computeruniverse.net online store.
In terms of performance in applications this is not best processor, however, in games it is better than a half times more expensive flagship Ryzen 7 2700X, which makes its choice very rational for mid-level gaming systems.
The first March computeruniverse’s order was issued on March 3, and the 6th has already been sent via DHL. The package was received at our center after 11 days. The order consisted of an expensively priced and heavy-weight Optoma HD144X Full-HD projector and an inexpensive business model of ASUS PRIME B360M-C motherboard.
The second March joint purchase was paid on March 6, sent by the store on March 11 and postal delivery to Russia took 9 days. Two Intel i3 processors of the OEM version were added to the order. There are also a boxed version of the hard disk from Toshiba 8 TB and the Seasonic PRIME FOCUS series power supply which are very popular in our orders.

The Core i5-9600K is the cheapest Intel desktop processor in the Coffee Lake Refresh family. It has only six, not eight processing cores, but it is 30-40% cheaper than the younger eight core model Core i7-9700K.
The six cores of the processor have a very interesting story – the processor emerged as a result of the implementation of chips that were a marriage in the production of older Coffee Lake Refresh. That is, the basis of the processor is the same as that of the more expensive versions of the Core i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K, but two of the eight cores were deactivated.
In addition to the crystals from the eight-core counterparts with an area of 174 mm2, the Core i5-9600K has a lot more in common with the i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K models. For example, here is the first hardware patch package against the vulnerabilities Meltdown and L1TF (Foreshadow), the memory controller of this processor is certified to support 128 GB DDR4 SDRAM.
Core i5-9600K is produced according to the most modern version of Intel’s 14-nm process technology and has an unlocked multiplier, which allows it to be overclocked. The processor is equipped with an integrated graphics core UHD Graphics 630.
The processor is compatible with any LGA1151v2-motherboards built using Intel chipsets with numbers from the fourth hundred.
The Intel Core i5-8400 “Coffee Lake” Boxed Sockel 1151-v2 [BX80684I58400] processor is positioned as a reasonable solution for demanding and calculating consumers. It belongs to the average price segment and is a kind of response to the emergence of new processors from rival AMD Ryzen.
In contrast to the Intel Core i5-7400, the Intel Core i5-8400 processor has got two additional cores. The advantages of the new model are also significant improvements in energy consumption and heat dissipation.
Owners of LGA1151 boards wishing to upgrade to the Intel Core i5-8400 “Coffee Lake” will be forced to purchase new boards with LGA1151v2, which are mostly simple rebranding. In addition, users may not be satisfied with the lack of overclocking capability in the processor, but is this such a big problem?
