Customer reviews, advantages and disadvantages

According to buyers, the Optoma HD144X Full-HD is an inexpensive projector, but at the same time very high-quality, made at the level of flagship models. The reviews noted the quality of the picture in FullHD, ease of setup and installation.

Advantages:

  • Bright projector – 3200 ANSI lm
  • Amazing colors – Rec.709 standard
  • Easy to connect – 2x HDMI, MHL, USB powered
  • Clean, powerful audio – 10W speaker

Disadvantages:

  • Projector lamp failure
  • “Rainbow effect” as a common defect

Users were also pleasantly surprised by the fact that the projector works great on a white wall and to ensure a clear picture it is not necessary to buy a special screen.

As disadvantages buyers noted the short life of the projector lamps. Some of the users were completely unlucky – the lamp exploded when operating in eco mode, but the percentage of such a defects is on the level of statistical error. Other shortcomings that have been described by buyers in the reviews are again associated with defective units, which they were “lucky enough to receive.” For example, one of the buyers got a projector on which a rainbow effect is noticeable when a black and white image is launched – the picture constantly splits into three channels. Another negative point is connected with the lighting: even a small source of light burns black on the screen, so that for dark pictures only full darkness in the room is suitable for this project.

Conclusion: In comparison with 42 ″ TV, an obvious difference in picture quality. The projector has its drawbacks, including the fragility of the lamps and the chance to get a defective unit, but in general, for such a price it is unlikely you will be able to find the same quality device in Germany.

Perfect

Just perfect. The projector has an extremely good picture. Even in daylight and light, the picture is very good. And the projector is extremely quiet. My PC has a higher noise level and is also very quiet because it has a soundproof housing. The noise level was a crucial factor for me, because the fan noise can limit the home theater experience extremely, I really put great emphasis on this and was not disappointed in any way. There is nothing to complain about the projector, just top.

Horrible buzzing sound
Date of purchase: July 12, 2018
Tried two of these projectors and both had the same horrible, loud high-pitched buzzing sound. Had to return both of them, it’s just not possible to enjoy movies or games fully because of the noise. This noise is both standard and eco-modes. First and last time I buy anything from Optoma. Their quality-control seems to be really poor.
