The third generation of Marshall’s popular in-ear headphones features enhanced sound, robust design and softer ear cushions.

The Major earphone line from Marshall has been the company’s most popular model for many years, and now the third generation of Major III can be used in both the wired and Bluetooth versions.

The new model is equipped with Major II square ear cushions, but Major III has a slightly cleaner, more premium appearance and a more durable design. Major III also has upgraded ear cushions that are softer and contain improved materials (alas, the foam inside does not seem to be a memory foam). The new model weighs 181 grams – or 8 grams more than the previous model.

Marshall’s elegant multi-directional control button, which allows you to switch tracks back and forth, adjust the volume and answer / end calls. Major II had a separate power button. Now all the functions are built into the small control panel (you keep the button pressed to turn on the headphones).

The sound has also been updated. The low frequencies are slightly clearer, and a high presence pulse is present at high frequencies, which makes the headphones more vivid. The sound is excellent, but if you compare it with the more expensive ANC Marshall Mid model, then there is a smoother and more saturated sound.

You get a headphone cord for when you want to listen in a wired mode —  for example, on an airplane — but a carrying bag is not included. Battery life is 30 hours at a moderate volume level. This is very good for Bluetooth headphones.

With the upcoming release of Major III Bluetooth, the price of Major II Bluetooth has dropped significantly. Over time, this new model should also be cheaper – and, perhaps, sooner rather than later. The competition in the headphone market these days is tough, especially because more and more people are switching to fully wireless headphones, such as the AirPods.

Customer Reviews

Among the advantages of headphones, customers in their reviews noted a pleasant design, excellent sound quality, excellent noise insulation, premium materials and long-lasting battery. Especially buyers have identified excellent bass and high-quality wires: “Bottoms are pleasant and detailed, the middle is high.” According to buyer reviews, in these headphones you can listen to music of almost any genre without sacrificing quality: “rock, alternative, jazz, classical and sound of these ears are completely satisfied even by bluetooth, and by wire – no complaints at all.”. Not a few forest words were also said about the battery, for example: “I use 4-5 hours a day for a week and only now began to discharge”.

The disadvantages that users are attributed in their reviews is the design, which puts pressure on the ears after 1-3 hours of use, as well as the lack of an automatic shutdown function. Many buyers are faced with discomfort that occurs in the ears after an hour of wearing, they begin to hurt. Other disadvantages: when reaching 80%, the sound starts to cut the ear, the joystick works with a slight delay due to the built-in protection against random clicks. Also, buyers were upset by the lack of a cover and branded gold-plated bends on the plug, which in some cases, the buyer could recognize the original from a fake.

Thank God they are real!!!!

I’m not going to lie …… I was nervous with all the fake Marshall headphones circulateing, I knew this could be a risk. They are 100% authentic. Sound quality is exactly what I expected from the Marshall brand. Easiest way to know if they are real is if the headphones support aptx audio. Once paired with an Android phone, it shows under the Bluetooth option when you click on the headphones. I enclosed a pic. I hope this review helps. Be careful with other sellers.

Customer feedback from Amazon, who was afraid to get fake headphones.

Very disappointing – They are cool, but that’s about it.

I had high hopes of buying Marshall’s Kilburn 2 BT speaker. While this sounds like garbage. Anemic congested low end, brittle highs, and a harsh mid-range. What’s up with that Marshall? You haven’t been able to use sound consumer audio. Grados blown out of the water. It’s a bit tied up, but it’s even hardwired through my ears. Oh, and they hurt.

Maybe they are counterfeit?

At any rate, they are going back ….
